DK Metcalf - May return to practice Thursday Metcalf (knee) won't practice Wednesday, but coach Mike Macdonald said he's optimistic the wideout will return Thursday and then play in Sunday's game against the Rams, Curtis Crab...
Impact Metcalf didn't practice last week and ended up missing a 31-10 loss to the Bills after suffering an MCL sprain the week before. It isn't thought to be an especially severe sprain, but Macdonald's optimism should probably be taken with a grain of salt, especially with a bye week coming up after Sunday's game and then two more divisional games scheduled on the other side of the bye (Week 11 at SF, Week 12 vs. ARZ).

Tyrel Dodson - Seven stops versus former team Dodson recorded seven tackles (five solo) in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact Dodson was joined by Ernest Jones, who was traded to the Seahawks on Wednesday, and the duo played every defensive snap and combined for 22 stops. A former Bill, Dodson's role appears secure in this defense where he has averaged 7.8 tackles per game.

Ernest Jones - Monster production in debut Jones recorded 15 tackles (seven solo) in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact The Seahawks traded Jerome Baker to the Titans for Ernest Jones on Wednesday, and Jones played every defensive snap and led the team in tackles Sunday. This was Jones' third double-digit tackling performance of the season. With his role seemingly secure in the Seahawks' defense, Jones should be a weekly IDP starter.

Jason Myers - Hits two kicks in loss Myers connected on a 38-yard field goal and his lone extra-point try in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact Myers remains perfect this season on kicks from within 40 yards, hitting all six of his field-goal tries and all 20 extra-point attempts. He has a decent opportunity ahead with a Week 9 matchup versus the Rams, who have given up 24.8 points per game, 11th-most in the league.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
AJ Barner - Puts up 34 yards Barner caught both of his targets for 34 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact The rookie fourth-round pick continues to play a meaningful role in the Seahawks' offense with a 40 percent snap share in Week 8. Barner appears far from passing Noah Fant for the starting tight end position, as he has yet to surpass three targets in a game this year.
OCTOBER 29 • ROTOWIRE
Zach Charbonnet - Scores in blowout loss Charbonnet rushed three times for four yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills. He also caught three of four targets for 20 yards.
Impact Charbonnet handled 22 offensive snaps compared to Kenneth Walker's 25 snaps, which translated to 45 yards on 13 touches. It's encouraging that Charbonnet received a goal-line touch, but it's worth noting that the Seahawks were trailing 31-3 at the time. Charbonnet has been quite inefficient this year with 3.5 yards per carry, and he'll continue to have limited upside as long as Walker is healthy.

DK Metcalf - Could be back for Week 9 With regard to the chances of Metcalf (knee) being able to play this coming Sunday against the Rams, head coach Mike Macdonald relayed Monday that it's "looking optimistic," Michae...
Impact The Seahawks plan to see how Metcalf looks when he's able return to practice, and then go from there, but at this stage it looks like the wideout has a chance to play this weekend after being inactive in Week 8. In his absence in Seattle's loss to the Bills, Jake Bobo saw added snaps alongside Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett.

Noah Fant - Gains 22 yards in defeat Fant had three receptions (four targets) for 22 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to Buffalo.
Impact Fant finished in a tie for third in terms of targets in a game where Seattle could do little on offense. The veteran tight end was coming off of a pair of 60-plus yard performances, so there is some deep-league value to be had. Fant shouldn't be considered much more than that heading into a Week 9 matchup against the Rams next Sunday.

Tyler Lockett - Struggles with three targets Lockett had one reception on three targets for nine yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to Buffalo.
Impact Lockett got the start in place of the injured DK Metcalf (knee), but the results did not match his opportunity. Jaxon Smith-Njigba (6-69-0) wound up leading the Seahawks in receiving in a game where the offense scored just one touchdown. Lockett will resume his role as the No. 2 or 3 receiver (pending Metcalf's availability) ahead of next Sunday's home tilt against the Rams.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba - Leading receiver in loss Smith-Njigba brought in six of seven targets for 69 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact Unlike last week's lopsided win which resulted in single-digit yardage for Smith-Njigba, this week's loss saw the Seahawks throw the ball for nearly the entire second half. The result was a stronger performance for the sophomore wideout despite his team taking a nasty loss. Smith-Njigba has seen his role increase in his second year as a pro, providing a 43/388/1 receiving line through eight games.

Kenneth Walker III - Falters on 13 touches Walker rushed nine times for 12 yards and caught four of five targets for 33 yards in Sunday's 31-10 loss to the Bills.
Impact Walker was dealing with an illness leading up to Sunday's kickoff, but it was a negative game script that led to an abysmal showing from a fantasy perspective. Seattle's leading rusher wound up being quarterback Geno Smith (5-16-0) on a day where the rushing attack could get nothing going. Walker was coming off of consecutive appearances with at least one touchdown scored, so fantasy managers should simply move past this dud as the Seahawks prepare to host the Rams next Sunday.

Seahawks teammates Derick Hall and Jarran Reed separated on sideline during loss to Bills

Things got so frustrating for the Seahawks in Sunday’s 31-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills that a pair of Seattle players exchanged blows and had to be separated on the sideline

Geno Smith - Fails to score in losing effort Smith completed 21 of 29 pass attempts for 212 yards, no touchdowns and one interception while rushing five times for 16 yards in Sunday's 31- 10 loss to the Bills.
Impact Smith failed to throw a touchdown for the first time in seven starts this season. He was far from the reason the Seahawks lost this contest, but it wasn't the veterans finest stat line either. Despite Seattle's struggles Sunday, Smith remains a reliable mid-range option heading into next Sunday's tilt against the Rams.
